Marcel

Marcel Strigberger attended McGill University in Montreal where he majored in sociology and philosophy in his undergraduate years and where he completed his LL.B in 1972. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1974. Since then he has been carrying on his extensive litigation practice in downtown Toronto for over 20 years, and in neighbouring Richmond Hill and Thornhill since 1997.

Marcel also has a second career, namely that of a legal humourist. While at university he wrote freelance comedy sketches for CBC radio and television programs, such as "Funny You Should Say That", which frequently featured noted comedy guests including Harvey Korman, Jonathan Winters and Lily Tomlin.

He has published numerous humourous articles in a variety of legal and non legal publications in Canada and the U.S. including The Toronto Star, The Globe And Mail, Stitches (The Journal of Medical humour), Doctor's Review, Dentist's Guide, The Canadian Jewish News, The Canadian Lawyer, Law Times, The Pennsylvania Lawyer, The New Jersey Lawyer, The Toastmaster and others.

He has keen insight into human nature and this made him a hit while he practiced stand up comedy at Yuk Yuks and other comedy clubs for a period of five years, sharing the stage with the likes of Rick Moranis, Howie Mandel, and Jim Carrey.

He has also written freelance comedy for comedian Dave Broadfoot and for the popular CBC radio program, "Royal Canadian Air Farce".

His most recent opus is a hilarious and thought provoking book entitled Birth, Death and other Trivialities, which is a humourous philosophical look at the human condition.
