Driver Drops Suit Against Parents Of Teen He Killed
A motorist who struck and killed a teenage cyclist in northern Spain - then sued the boy's parents over the damage to his car - has dropped the lawsuit, reportedly because of media pressure.

What A Nasty Letter For A $16.96 Debt!
A collection agency tried to collect a $16.96 debt with an letter that addressed its recipient with a four-letter word for excrement. "Dear S---," began the letter attempting to collect from an old record club membership. The word was spelled out in the letter, which arrived in an envelope addressed to "S--- Face." The recipient (also known as Mr. Face) plans to sue the agency.

A US woman was arrested this week after she allegedly tried to hire a hit man to murder her married lover's wife by posting an ad on the popular website Craigslist.

Man Rides Lawn Mower To Liquor Store
A man in Michigan was charged with drunken driving after going through two bottles of wine, cutting through a snowstorm on his lawn mower, and riding down the center of the street to reach a liquor store.

Sign-language interpreters in Thailand have run afoul of some governing party supporters by holding their noses to refer to the new prime minister.

Woman With Vomiting Daughter Gets Ticket
A Florida woman’s day already had soured when her 3-year-old daughter began vomiting in her Dodge Caravan. Then she got a $123 traffic ticket after she made an improper U-turn to attend to her vomiting daughter.

Russians Who Owe Money Can't Travel Abroad
Under a new law, Russians who have outstanding debts can have their apartments searched without their consent or be barred from leaving the country. The law expands a current crackdown on debtors and now applies to those with unpaid traffic fines and utility bills, while debtors can have their applications for a new passport denied.

Md. Lawmakers Propose Walking For Official Exercise
A proposal to make walking the official exercise of Maryland could get the boot — again. A bill sponsored by Sen. Verna Jones was introduced last week, but some lawmakers question what makes the activity so special to Maryland. A previous attempt at the designation was vetoed several years ago by then-Gov. Robert Ehrlich.

Having a tornado demolish her home in Wisconsin was bad enough. But weeks later when Ann received a $2,000 cable bill for destroyed equipment, she was floored. Time Warner Cable billed a number of residents for equipment damaged in the Jan. 7 twister.

Chrysler Workers Who Don't Drive Chryslers Park In The Back
Employees at a Chrysler plant in Newark, Del. who don’t drive a Chrysler now have to park in the back, so passers-by can’t see them. Plant management issued the directive on January 25.
